How to Make Donations and Contributions to Support the ALDF
Your Support Is Important To Us.
The American Lyme Disease Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, offers vital educational programs and services to the public, government agencies, and medical community. Our mission is predicated on the idea that these programs and services help people 1) prevent tick bites potentially leading to Lyme disease or other tick-borne infections, 2) recognize early symptoms so that potential long-term consequences can be avoided, and 3) receive quality healthcare from knowledgeable physicians. We promote these objectives by providing reliable and accurate information about risk assessment, epidemiology, symptoms, recommended diagnosis and treatment guidelines, approved and experimental testing methods, prevention strategies, tick-control and much more. We embrace the principle that a clearer understanding of risk and how to reduce it diminishes the fear associated with Lyme disease and promotes confident, pro-active behavior.
To continue to meet the growing demand for our programs and services, the ALDF depends on contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations who share our goal of combating Lyme disease and other emerging tick-borne infections. You can help us take one more step forward in the fight against these potentially disabling or fatal illnesses by generously supporting our efforts to reach more people with more information and raise funds for essential research.
Although the ALDF appreciates and thankfully accepts unsolicited donations, it does not solicit donations nor does it participate in fund-raising activities of any sort.
Please note that although the electronic mechanism used by the ALDF greatly facilitates the donation process for both donors and the ALDF, it does not provide the means to make and send memorial announcements. So, if you wish to make a donation in behalf – or in memory—of some individual, the donor must do that separately and send such an announcement to the appropriate party and address.
Since all donations to the ALDF must remain confidential, the ALDF does not make any announcements concerning the amount of the donation made, as well as memorial announcements on its website.
The thanks and contributions we receive from many of those who have benefited from our information attest to the value of our programs and services. We hope you will consider supporting our mission with your own tax-deductible contribution.
